Non-FIT Researcher Access

Frustrated person looking at laptop

Non-FIT researchers might be able to access an electronic version through ProQuest's Dissertation & Theses database by way of another college or university library, or a public library.

FIT Theses prints are not available through Interlibrary loan.

For more information about accessing dissertations and theses produced at the Fashion Institute of Technology please post a question to Ask The Library or read our Visitor Policy page about making a research appointment.

Online Dissertations & Theses @ Fashion Institute of Technology (ProQuest)

In 2015, all existing FIT Theses were digitally scanned, converted to full-text electronic PDF files and indexed in the Dissertations & Theses @ Fashion Institute of Technology (ProQuest) database. The FIT Library holds these original print editions.

Going forward, all FIT Theses will be made electronically available via this database. The thesis details, call number and electronic resource file link may be found by searching for "FIT Thesis" in OneSearch (FIT Library Catalog) or the full-text database.

The FIT Library also has copies of related special topic theses from other world-wide programs.

FIT Graduate Students: For information about uploading your final FIT Thesis or Dissertation to ProQuest contact your thesis advisor or the School of Graduate Studies office at gradinfo@fitnyc.edu or call 212 217.4300.
