Has your instructor asked you to find articles from scholarly journals?
These journals are often published by a professional organization or a university. The articles, written by scholars or researchers in the field, are usually original research with abstracts, extensive bibliographies, and footnotes. The good news is that many databases will allow you to limit your search to articles from scholarly (also called academic, peer-reviewed, and refereed) journals.

Use articles for current or detailed information, or if you cannot find any books on your topic. Not for broad overview of a topic.
