SimplyAnalytics (Access via NY Public Library)

What is it?

Simply Analytics is resource available through the New York Public Library for data visualization, geographic mapping, and analysis which used for market research and other demographic studies. It provides access to extensive demographic, consumer behavior, and business data from sources like the U.S. Census Bureau, Simmons, and Nielsen, and can be used to do some of the following things.  

  • Create Custom Maps: Generate thematic maps to visualize data geographically at various levels (e.g., ZIP codes, counties, states).  

  • Analyze Market Trends: Identify patterns in consumer spending, preferences, and lifestyle choices.  

  • Build Reports:  Generate detailed reports, such as ranking tables and comparisons across geographic areas.  

  • Customize Visualizations: Tailor maps, charts, and reports to specific research needs or presentations.  

  • Focus on Local Data: Drill down into specific locations or regions to understand local demographic or market characteristics.  

How to get access? 

In order to access Simply Analytics, you will need to have an New York Public Library account and card, which can be obtained by students and residences in NYC on this website. Activation of your online account is immediate.  Once you access Simply Analytics, continue as "Guest."  Do not log in again.
