APA citation and writing style

What is a citation?

  1. A "citation" is a way to tell your readers that certain content in your work came from another source.

Why is it important?

  1. It gives your audience the information necessary to find that source again.

  2. When you provide the source of you research: such as the author, the title of the work and when it was written it gives your audience context for your work.

  3. Citing your research makes you look smarter and more confident because your ideas are backed up with reliable facts.
